Cuban Thanksgiving in Miami: Turkey, Lechón or Both?
In Miami, Thanksgiving rarely looks like the postcard. The turkey is there, but so is the lechón asado, a big tray of moro rice, yuca con mojo and sweet plantains. At La Esquina del Lechón we have been cooking for South Florida families for over 18 years, and every November we hear the same question: "Turkey or lechón?" Our answer: why choose?
Below you will find our 2026 Thanksgiving catering packages, how much food you need for your group, and everything you need to know to order without stress.
Thanksgiving 2026 catering packages
All packages are ready to serve. You just set the table.
- American Turkey Dinner Special – Serves 15–20 · $305 (about $15.25 per person). A 22–24 lb roasted turkey, 5 lb of stuffing, mashed potatoes, mixed salad, homemade gravy and cranberry relish. The classic Thanksgiving, done for you.
- Latin Turkey Dinner Special – Serves 15–20 · $305 (about $15.25 per person). The same 22–24 lb turkey with stuffing, gravy and cranberry relish, plus a large tray of moro rice and mashed potatoes. American tradition, Latin flavor.
- Fiesta Pernil – Serves 18–20 · $293 (about $14.65 per person). Roasted pork leg with our house spices, moro rice, yuca with mojo, sweet plantains and our original pernil sauce.
- Cuban Thanksgiving: Lechón Asado & Pavo – Serves 30–40 · $554 (about $13.85 per person). Our famous lechón and a roasted turkey together, with stuffing, gravy, cranberry relish, moro rice, yuca with mojo, sweet plantains and mariquitas with garlic sauce.
- Super Party: Pernil & Pavo – Serves 30–40 · $554 (about $13.85 per person). Roasted pork leg and a 22–24 lb turkey with all the sides, for the big family gathering.
- Lechón Asado & Chicken Churrasco – Serves 30–40 · $509 (about $12.73 per person). Lechón with sautéed onions and grilled chicken churrasco, with moro rice, yuca with mojo, sweet plantains and mariquitas. Our best price per person.
Hosting a smaller group? Our 12-person trays (Arroz Imperial Party, Lasagna de Carne Celebration) and the 15–20 person combos with vaca frita or masitas de puerco are great options.

Turkey or lechón? How Miami does it
Many Cuban and Latin families in Miami serve both: the turkey for tradition and the kids, the lechón because a holiday without it does not feel like home. If you can only choose one:
- Choose turkey if your table is mostly about the classic American dinner with stuffing, gravy and cranberry.
- Choose lechón or pernil if your family expects moro rice, yuca con mojo and maduros.
- Choose both if you are hosting 30 or more people. Our combos with lechón and turkey come out cheaper per person than ordering separately.

How much food do I need?
A simple rule: order for the number of adults you expect, plus 10% if your family likes to take food home (every Latin family does). Our combos already list how many people they serve, and the price per person is shown so you can compare.
- 12 guests: one 12-person tray, or a 15–20 combo if you want leftovers
- 15–20 guests: Turkey Dinner Special or Fiesta Pernil
- 30–40 guests: Cuban Thanksgiving Lechón & Pavo or Super Party Pernil & Pavo
How to order
- Choose your combo on our catering menu.
- Place your order with at least 36 hours' notice. Large orders need that time so we can cook everything fresh.
- On Thursday, November 26, we hand out orders from 9 AM to 2 PM.
Important: we accept Thanksgiving orders until we reach our kitchen's capacity. Our capacity fills up fast in the last days before the holiday, so the sooner you order, the better.

How far in advance should I order my Thanksgiving catering?
At least 36 hours before. Because we accept orders only until we reach capacity, we recommend ordering 1–2 weeks ahead.
What time can I pick up my order on Thanksgiving Day?
On Thursday, November 26, orders are handed out from 9 AM to 2 PM.
Is the turkey already cooked?
Yes. Our turkeys are seasoned with our house spices and fully roasted. They arrive ready to serve.
How many people does a 22–24 lb turkey feed?
In our Turkey Dinner Specials it serves 15 to 20 people together with the sides included.
